Student Life
1972, elected as the last General Secretary of NEFA Student Union. As the General Secy. I worked towards strengthening of the NEFA Students movement and to promote unity among all the students of the erstwhile NEFA.
In 1974, at the Tezu Conference of NEFA Students Union, I was elected as the first President of All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (APPSU).
In 1976, I conducted the conference -cum-election of AAPSU at Bomdila after which at the end of my tenure I was accorded a warm farewell by the West Kameng Students Union.
Legal Experience
After the completion of my Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Delhi University in 1977, I started practicing from Delhi High Court (enrolment number D/297/1977 under the Advocate's Act 1961) and became the first Advocate from the state. In 1981 I was transferred to Guwahati High Court and started my practice with the then Advocate General of Arunachal Pradesh, Advocate BM Goswami.
In 1981, I became a member of Arunachal Legal Panel and till 1991 practiced law and handled numerous cases covering the region of pasighat , Aalo and Basar.
Political Experience
Active member of Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) from 1982-1990 and held different portfolios.
In 1984, I was elected as Anchal Samiti Member (ASM) from Pagi village, Basar and worked for the development and welfare of the area.
In 1987, I was elected again as the Zila Parishad Member (ZPM) of west siang District. As the ZPM I discharged my duties to the best of my capacity and played an active role in the District Level meetings and in highlighting the needs of the people. I also actively worked to spread awareness about the panchayati Raj System and the importance of local Self- Government. Many developmental works were undertaken during my term.
In 1991, I became the INC Legal Cell Chairman and in 1999 I served as the District Congress President of West Siang District.
In the 1999 election, I was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the 29th Basar Assembly constituency.
Under the leadership of Shri Mukut Mithi, the then Chief Minister, I was elevated to the position of Minister of State for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperation.
As Minister, I managed to establish the permanent bench of the Guwahati High Court at Itanagar and also established three fast track courts at Yupia, Namsai and Basar. These branches have been functioning smoothly, providing much needed relief to the people of our State.
During my tenure, I also tried to channelize the Gaon Burah (GB) system creating a Circle Head Gaon Burah (CHGB) in every circle and also enhanced their honorarium. Further I tried to transform the roles of the PI's in villages for the better functioning of the grass root level democratic institutions.
I was also appointed as an Advisor to the Ex- CM Late Dorjee Khandu.
Currently, I am serving as the President of KarkoAo welfare Association (KAWA) which is functioning in five districts of the State and which is working for the Socio-Economic Upliftment of the people.
